1. What do I need to do before I can start driving?
You must have a Provisional Licence.
You must complete driving licence application form D1 and photo card application form D750 (Available from most post offices.

2. How often should I have my lessons?
Green4Go recommends at least 1 session of 1.5 hours per week. Your instructor will structure your lessons to suit your needs. This can depend on what time you have available & how often you can afford to train.

3. What is the cheapest way of booking my lessons?
You can cut the cost of learning to drive by taking advantage of block booking discounts.

4. How many driving lessons will I need to take?
Every driver is different so by using the new DSA driver records you can see your strengths & weaknesses. Your instructor will use this to feedback your progress.

5. Do I need to pass the Theory Test before I can start my driving lessons?
No. In fact it is a good idea to learn the theory whilst you are learning the practical as it can bring the subject alive making it easier to understand and remember.

6. Do Green4Go provide Theory Test Training?
Your instructor will help with all aspects of your training. Full details on our Theory page.


7. Where do I take my Theory Test?
For Nottingham you will visit Rodney House (Suite G2, ground floor), Castle Gate, Nottingham, NG1 7AW

8. Now that there is a Theory Test, will I still be asked questions at the end of my Practical Test?
No. The Practical Test and Theoretical Test are now completely separate.

9. Can a friend or relative teach me how to drive?
The Driving Standards Agency strongly recommends that you take lessons from an Approved Driving Instructor. If your friend or relative teaches you they must be over 21 years of age and have held a Full British Driving Licence for at least 3 years. Your instructor will give you a free guide to follow whilst driving with your family member or friend. If done properly this can be very beneficial.

10. Will my instructor expect me to know the basics of learning to drive?
No.

11. When I pass my test, do Green4Go provide any further courses?

12. Does Green4Go provide tuition in Automatic Cars?
Yes. If you would like clutch free motoring - No problem!
Automatics, by making the physical job of driving much easier, give you more time to concentrate on what's happening on the road. Many people today believe clutch free driving is the future. If you are finding manual driving too difficult we can easily transfer you to an automatic instructor if you wish.

13. Does Green4Go provide Refresher Courses for Qualified Drivers?
Yes, depending on your requirements there's a number of choices to help you build your confidence.
